CSO adds new “experiences”

The Fall season is fast approaching. And here are some fun, just-announced Friday Experiences and CSO Proof programs coming up during the CSO season:

NEW FRIDAY EXPERIENCES
COPLAND: SYMPHONY IN LIGHT — Jan. 10, 2025 in Music Hall
For this special concert experience, you’ll be treated to a multi-sensory performance of Copland’s Symphony No. 3,  accompanied by stunning visual and lighting effects created by designer Luke Kritzeck.
DVOŘÁK DECONSTRUCTED — Feb. 7, Music Hall
You’ll start your evening with full performance of Dvořák’s New World Symphony – a work that resonates with emotional depth and continues to evoke a sense of longing, discovery, and the blending of old and new worlds.
After that, choose-your-own adventure by exploring as many of these offerings as you desire:

*        Meet and socialize with the CSO musicians you just heard perform.
*        Enjoy a solo performance by Randall Goosby, one of the most sought-after violinists performing today. Randall will perform works that connect and relate to the New World Symphony.
*        Have a seat on stage to feel what it’s like to be a part of the performance you experienced.
*        Explore and reimagine the New World Symphony through the lens of Jazz – the music of America, born out of African American spirituals, which heavily influenced New World Symphony.
All spaces will be accompanied by a food and beverage pairing unique to the music and experience.
CSO PROOF
THE DARK NIGHT — Oct. 16, Music Hall
The colorful sound world of Mozart’s Gran Partita intimately intertwines with Aureliano Cattaneo’s shadowy and dreamy La nuit sombre to form the soundscape to an occult, fever-dream masquerade. Escape into obscurity and anonymity through the iron gates of Music Hall’s Gothic frame. Your experience begins at 7:30 pm.
TANGO LAB — March 27, 2025
This unique CSO Proof event is more than just a performance – it’s an opportunity to participate in a concert experience where you – the audience – can learn the tango and join the performers. After a performance by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and professional tango dancers, expert instructors will guide you through the basic steps of tango in an engaging and accessible lesson. Participate in as little or as much of the experience as you’d like!
